Avoca Line
The Avoca Line has an interesting history having been closed on a number of occasions and subsequently reopened. In its most recent incarnation, the line was converted to standard gauge with the main western line through Ararat. The line is a cross country route which links Ararat through to Maryborough and currently provides the only Standard Gauge link through to the latter town.
