Gheringhap

Gheringhap was the junction station between the line from Geelong to Ballarat and the line from Geelong to Maroona. The station building, platform and signals box existed until very recently at this station but were demolished to make way for an enlargened crossing loop. Both broad guage and standard guage tracks go through Gheringhap with a the broad guage line continuing to Ballarat and the standard guage line continuing to Maroona. Crossing loops and sidings exist at Gheringhap for both guages. For information on train movements through Gheringhap and pictures of what the station used to look like, Graham Elliot's Gheringhap loop website is the place to look.
