Mirboo_North Line

The railway to Mirboo North once branched off the main Gippsland line at Morwell. During its existence it was used to transport timber, milk and potatos amongst other commodities in addition to passengers until the line closed in the 1970s.

Closure was forced upon this branch line due to a desire to expand the Morwell Open Cut coal mine at the Morwell end of the line which severed part of the right of way. Today the forested section between Boolarra and Mirboo North has been converted into a rail trail.
