Moolort Line
The Moolort Line is a cross country line which extends between Castlemaine and Maryborough. The line is rarely used today and has recently only opened seasonally for grain traffic although occasional trains have accessed a ballast siding located at Moolort Station.
The line is currently Broad Gauge and was to have only the western end between Castlemaine and Moolort converted to Standard Gauge, thus creating a break of guage and preventing through train movements. This proposal has since been modified to retain the broad gauge connection between Castlemain and Maryborough.
