Benalla Station retains a significant passenger building and also a goods yard. A rather primitive standard guage platform is alos provided for use by the XPT from Sydney. The main station is used by V/Line Passenger trains on the Albury service whilst these days the extensive goods yard is rarely used. The station building was previously even larger, once containing a tower however this was removed when it was deemed to be no longer useful.
