Heathcote_Junction is an active station which is serviced by many V/Line Passenger services each day. The station is located in extremely close proximity to Wandong which is the next station in the DOWN direction The station now has very primitive passenger waiting facilties, however in the past contained a substantial signal box. The station formed the junction of the former cross country line to Bendigo via Heathcote (hence the name Heathcote Junction).
